My Christian Life
My Christian life began when I was a small child.

My mother took me to Sunday School at the Kirkwood Methodist Church in Atlanta. Our teacher showed the class how to pray the Lord's Prayer, and I learned to memorize verses from the Bible.
When I was nine years old, I was baptized and joined the Kirkwood Methodist Church and became a full-time member. I attended Vacation Bible School every summer, and when I became a teenager, I joined the "Youth Fellowship" program and attended Sunday evening programs that gave me lessons in how to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My service to our Lord has been a part of my life ever since. My husband and I were married at the church in 1963, and after our son, Neal, was born, we had him baptized there.
Later, we became members of Columbia Drive UMC, and I joined the United Methodist Women, where I helped in their many programs of taking care of the hungry, sick, and homeless.
I continued to serve in the UMW after we moved to Snellville United Methodist Church and took on many other duties, as well as Sunday School class president and treasurer of my UMW circle. I was honored to receive several gold pins for my service.
I am now a widow and 93 years old. Although my health prevents me from doing the services I did in the past, I can contribute funds to Wesley Chapel UMC so that others can help continue with God's work.
