Blessings in a Backpack
At Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, we take community service rather seriously. Giving back to the people from the Floyd County area isn't just a hobby or a "feel-good" activity; we view it as our duty to our local community. Our faith-based community service programs are intended to assist people in crisis. That is why Wesley Chapel got involved with Blessings in a Backpack.
Blessings in a Backpack provides elementary schoolchildren who are on the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year. Backpack food includes easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat foods like granola bars, juice boxes, mac and cheese, and oatmeal.
