What We Believe

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is a United Methodist Church, a mainline Protestant denomination, which has been a part of our nation since its founding. Its beliefs are founded on solid biblical teaching, shaped by John Wesley and the Wesleyan traditions of personal spiritual growth and community involvement.

The United Methodist Church beliefs include the practice of Holy Communion, which is open to all who seek to turn away from their sins and who seek to live in peace.  Its beliefs also include the practice of both infant and adult baptism. The United Methodist Church believes that no one can earn their way into relationship to God, but that only can happen through faith in Jesus Christ. God wants to be at the center of every person's life and God offers everyone, no matter their past, such access. This is called grace, God's free gift to all who will receive it.

The United Methodist Church beliefs include that God's truth is contained in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. One's faith is based on these scriptures and is informed and shaped by a person's experience, reason, and the traditions of the Christian church.

Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is one of over 40,000 congregations located throughout the world.  Every one of these churches values the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. It's more than just about believing. It's about putting one's beliefs into action for the sake of helping others.
