Passionate Worship
Passionate Worship is designed to support our mission of making disciples of Jesus to transform the world. Our worship is filled with prayers…for in prayer we find God and God transforms us. Our worship is filled with songs…for in songs our hearts connect with God and one another. Our worship includes Biblically based messages, providing help in today’s world and hope for the future.
Wesley Chapel, along with other United Methodist Churches around the globe, offers regular opportunities to worship God. These worship celebrations are the primary weekly event in which each people gather to celebrate together their connection with God and the community they serve. Through singing, preaching, prayer, and fellowship, worship participants intentionally focus on worshiping God and developing their faith - a faith founded upon the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The days and times for our worship celebrations are:
All are welcome to attend these weekly worship celebrations. When Wesley Chapel provides Holy Communion as a part of its worship, it is open to all who wish to turn from sin and seek to live in peace with one another. One does not need to be a member of a United Methodist Church to participate.
The worship celebrations are designed to provide a person with a safe, non-threatening experience to encounter God and the love of Jesus Christ, so that they can grow in their love of God, become more like Jesus, and go and share God’s love with their neighbors, communities and those throughout the world.
We appreciate your interest in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and our weekly worship celebrations. For more information on our church community, our service styles, or times,

About Us
Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is just one church in a community of over 1,200 United Methodist congregations throughout Indiana. We've made it our mission to serve and invest in our community in whatever capacity we can. As an active part of the New Albany community, we work hard to bring the message of who Jesus is to those around us.
Our core values include...
- Radical Hospitality
- Passionate Worship
- Intentional Faith Development
- Risk-Taking Mission and Service
- Extravagant Generosity
Much like the early 18th century Methodists, our general rules can be wrapped up in three main points – do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God.
Prayer Requests
Requests for prayers for groups and/or individuals.
New Albany Small Groups
Small groups are a great opportunity for people looking to get better connected to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church community. It gives individuals a chance to know one another outside of the conventional Sunday morning church services.
Small groups provide three basic necessities for developing healthy spiritual growth:
- Accountability
- Forward Momentum
- Missional Identity
Accountability is important because it facilitates faith growth like few other relationships will. Life can be challenging and full of temptations, but with the help of small groups and accountability partners, you know you’re not facing it alone.
Forward momentum means that your connection with the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church community doesn’t end when you leave the campus on Sunday morning. Intentionally doing life together keeps momentum moving forward throughout the week. This momentum can create an atmosphere for individuals to ask questions, seek help from one another, and challenge each other in their spiritual walk.
Developing a missional identity simply means that, while small groups are intended to develop the spiritual growth of the individuals involved, they are still focused outward in some capacity. There’s a certain part of spiritual growth that can only happen when you start to serve others around you, and that’s exactly what creating a missional identity is all about. Whether it means volunteering your time to help the people of New Albany, or focusing globally, our small groups encourage serving other people.

Blessings in a Backpack
At Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, we take community service rather seriously. Giving back to the people from the New Albany area isn't just a hobby or a "feel-good" activity; we view it as our duty to our local community.
Our faith-based community service programs are intended to assist people in crisis and empower them to move out of poverty. That is why Wesley Chapel got involved with Blessings in a Backpack.
Blessings in a Backpack provides elementary schoolchildren who are on the federal Free and Reduced Price Meal Program with a backpack of food to take home for 38 weekends during the school year. Backpack food includes easy-to-prepare, ready-to-eat foods like granola bars, juice boxes, mac and cheese, and oatmeal.
New Albany Summer Camp
Summer camp provides great opportunities to meet new people, expel some of that pent-up summertime energy, and - let's face it parents - get the kids out of the house for a week! Not to mention, they're FUN! Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church offers several camps for different age groups through
Impact 2818 outdoor ministries. These summer camps are located in...
North Webster, IN (
Epworth Forest)
Pierceton, IN (
Camp Adventure)
Wolcottville, IN (
Camp Lakewood)
Pine Village, IN (
Pine Creek Camp)
Nashville, IN (
Camp Moneto)
Springville, IN (
Camp Indicoso)
Mitchell, IN (
Camp Rivervale)
Aside from being a great opportunity to play games, dive into mud pits, and do other crazy things you wouldn't normally be able to do, summer camps are a safe and fun way to grow spiritually in a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Especially today, kids need a chance to unplug from the computer, cell phones, iPods, video games, etc., and invest in their friendships, refocus on what's important, and find some entertainment in things that don't require batteries. This week of camp will also provide exciting, engaging worship, impactful teaching, and plenty of structured free-time.

New Albany Bible Study
Bible studies are unique from small groups or Sunday school in that they have a sole focus. While small groups and Sunday school focus on a broad spectrum of spiritual growth and development, Bible study is geared towards one thing - understanding the Bible better.
Let's face it, the Bible can be hard to understand at times. Having a group to sit down with and discuss the intricacies of what's actually happening is a valuable tool to have. Being able to understand the context of which the Bible was written, the social factors of the time, and even learning about the authors can greatly increase your appreciation for what the Bible is telling you.
Not only do Bible studies help you to understand the Bible better, they also keep you invested in reading it by providing the accountability of a group to help encourage you to do so. At Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, we strive to help our community focus on the Bible as a means to hear from God - not just something to put on their "to-do" list, a task.
Our Bible study groups are not just limited to adults. Children and young adult Bible studies are available throughout the week at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and are open to anyone that is interested.
If you're ready to get involved in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church community and be challenged by a group dedicated to studying the Bible, our Bible study program is right for you.

MATERIALS
Students are expected to bring their homework for tutoring time. This includes textbooks, paper, writing materials, and calculators, if needed.

What We Believe
Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is a United Methodist Church, a mainline Protestant denomination, which has been a part of our nation since its founding. Its beliefs are founded on solid biblical teaching, shaped by John Wesley and the Wesleyan traditions of personal spiritual growth and community involvement.
The United Methodist Church beliefs include the practice of Holy Communion, which is open to all who seek to turn away from their sins and who seek to live in peace. Its beliefs also include the practice of both infant and adult baptism. The United Methodist Church believes that no one can earn their way into relationship to God, but that only can happen through faith in Jesus Christ. God wants to be at the center of every person's life and God offers everyone, no matter their past, such access. This is called grace, God's free gift to all who will receive it.
The United Methodist Church beliefs include that God's truth is contained in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. One's faith is based on these scriptures and is informed and shaped by a person's experience, reason, and the traditions of the Christian church.
Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church is one of over 40,000 congregations located throughout the world. Every one of these churches values the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. It's more than just about believing. It's about putting one's beliefs into action for the sake of helping others.
